The Original Baker Spreads Festive Joy with Generous Donations to Local Charities and Community Initiatives

This holiday season, The Original Baker is once again demonstrating its commitment to the community with the donation of 1,200 freshly baked pies to three deserving causes. The bakery has partnered with The Rainbow Centre in Scarborough, St Leonard’s Hospice in York, and St Catherine’s festive initiative to share warmth, comfort, and festive cheer with those who need it most.

The donation, of delicious handmade deli rolls, aims to bring joy to individuals, vulnerable families, and healthcare workers during the festive period. The Original Baker is proud to be supporting these three local organisations, each of which plays an essential role in helping people in the community.

St Catherine’s Hospice – Festive Community Buffet

The Original Baker is also supporting Catherine’s Hospice, a vital local charity providing compassionate care and support to people living with life-shortening conditions. In the spirit of the season, The Original Baker has donated 200 of its premium handmade deli rolls to contribute to a festive buffet hosted by the hospice. The buffet is being organised for employees, patients, and their families, offering an opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate during this special time of year.

Craig Robson, Communications Officer for St Catherine’s Hospice said – “A huge thank you to The Original Baker for kindly donating vegan sausage rolls to our catering team. Your generosity means so much, and these will be enjoyed by our patients, their families, and friends. Your kindness and community spirit truly highlight the power of businesses coming together to support one another.”

St Catherine’s Hospice plays a vital role in the community, offering comfort, dignity, and support to individuals and families facing challenging circumstances. The festive buffet aims to create a moment of connection and celebration, ensuring that the holiday season feels bright and inclusive for everyone involved.

Supporting The Rainbow Centre

The Rainbow Centre in Scarborough will receive a generous portion of the pies as part of the donation. The Rainbow Centre provides vital support to individuals and families facing challenges due to illness, disability, and other hardships. This donation is intended to bring some holiday cheer to those receiving services at the Centre, offering them a comforting taste of home during a difficult time.

“We are incredibly proud to be able to contribute to these wonderful causes this Christmas,” said Gill Ridgard, Managing Director at The Original Baker. “The Rainbow Centre, St, and St Catherine’s Hospice all make a real difference in the lives of people in our community, and we hope that our donation will bring some extra cheer and comfort to those who need it most.”

Each organisation has expressed heartfelt gratitude for the donation, which will be shared among patients, staff, and families during the holiday season. The Original Baker’s efforts are a testament to the bakery’s ongoing commitment to giving back and supporting the local community, particularly during the festive period.

The Original Baker encourages others in the community to consider supporting local causes this season, whether through donations, volunteer work, or simply spreading kindness.
